Job responsibilities:
- Research and analyze the local market for social entrepreneurship (the provision of products and services to low-income households and microenterprises, which includes social objectives in addition to financial objectives), with a particular focus on SMEs (social entrepreneurs)
- Analyze overall framework conditions in each country including macroeconomic, political and legal framework, potential and constraints of private sector activities, particularly as it relates to social entrepreneurship
- Research the potential, condition and risk related to specific sectors relevant to social entrepreneurship, such as Agriculture, Health, Water and Sanitation, Energy, Education, Transportation, and Finance
- Identify SMEs engaged in social entrepreneurship and determine if they meet basic criteria for participation in the project
- Develop conclusions based on data analysis and research findings
- Write professional reports
Requirements:
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Banking or related fields
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the field of social entrepreneurship or SME development in at least one of the countries indicated above
- Local knowledge of relevant sectors (health, education, water and sanitation, renewable energy, agriculture and other sectors providing basic goods and services to the Asian Base of Pyramid market)
- Previous experience in institutional development in local market is an asset
- Fluency in English
- Strong analytical, communication and writing skills
